My highlights:
-As of September, manufacturing activity is contracting in 13 countries, out of 24 countries. (I do not include the eurozone as a whole, so as not to avoid double-counting country members of the currency union.) Activity is contracting in: Austria, Australia, Brazil, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and Taiwan. Activity is expanding in: Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, U.K., and U.S.
-From August to September, activity deteriorated in 17 out of 24 countries. A deterioration can be either a slowdown in the rate of expansion, or an acceleration in the rate of contraction. Activity deteriorated in: Austria, Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, and Taiwan. Activity improved in: Canada, China, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Turkey, U.K., and U.S.
